About this tool
Writes words onto a picture. Add as many separate captions as you need, drag each one into place, and give it an outline so it stays readable over whatever is behind it.

Good to know
An outline is what makes text readable
White words on a bright sky disappear, and so do dark words on a shadow. A contrasting outline drawn behind the letters keeps them legible over anything, which is why captioning tools have always used one.
Sizes are measured against the picture, not the screen
A caption is stored at its size in the image, so the preview and the saved file agree no matter how small the picture is being shown. It also means the default size scales with the photograph rather than being invisible on a large one.
The typefaces, and your own
Two of the built-in faces ship with the site rather than being fetched from a font service, so choosing them contacts nobody, and one of those covers Cyrillic, Greek and Hebrew. The rest are whatever your device already has, so they may look different elsewhere. You can also load a font file of your own: it is read in the browser exactly as the picture is, used for as long as the page is open, and stored nowhere.
